SABRFC R2R: WEEK 1 Update & NEXT STEPS

Hello ONECLUB,

Week 1 "DRY RUN" update – “win some or learn some” (Jason Mraz)

R2R Week 1 was a success with 29 women at Tuesday’s practice and 13 men on Thursday! Tuesday was our first chance to practice and have a “dry run” of the R2R protocol. Even though all COVID measures were in place, we did not expect to get rained out! Despite the thunder, lightning and drowning rain the girls had a blast even if it was only 5 minutes of being together as a team and touching the rugby ball again! The men had nicer weather and were able to complete an excellent first practice! Pool noodle tag and Lav squirting hand sanitizer from his water gun were definitely highlights! Let’s just say, we had huge wins last week and a few lessons. To be better prepared for thunder and lightning the next time around I highly suggest bringing a garbage bag to put your kit bag in if it rains.

Week 2 NEXT STEPS - Get excited we are PASSING!

We are moving to phase 3b next week which allows for passing the ball! See below for schedule and important reminders.

Training Schedule for next week:

  • Women’s practice - Tuesday, June 30th @ 6:30PM - 8:00PM

  • Men’s practice - Thursday, July 2nd @ 6:30PM - 8:00PM

IMPORTANT Reminders:

  • Before every practice, ON THE DAY OF PRACTICE, fill in the COVID-19 Symptom tracker

  • If this is your FIRST PRACTICE, you also need to fill in the Acknowledgment of Risk form (** please note that you only need to fill this form out once)

  • Make sure you show up to practice 15-20 mins early to ensure we can follow the proper R2R protocol

I am excited to see you all out at ESG again! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at sabrfc.president@gmail.com.
