Skate Skiing offers a lung expanding outdoor experience

Two SABRFCers went skate skiing in Gatineau park. They both had similar things to say about the experience. "Fantastic," said hard to please Bryce Thomassin. "Fun," the fun-loving Tanja Andersson cried out. "But the uphills were murder!"

Both members were also surprised to confirm Stone's story #87 that he lived in a ski store. you can see him in one of these pictures with Bryce and the owner. That was his living room window at upper right.

Gatineau park is one of the best skate skiing locations in the world, with a wide variety of twisting and winding trails groomed specifically for skating on skis. It is fast and grueling as Bryce discovered when he collapsed at the finishing line, seconds behind Stone!

This is the perfect time of the year for skate skiing as the snow is fast and soft. We hope to try it again before the short spring season ends so stay posted. This weekend we are planning a PREP Tuck's trip to Mont Sutton or if numbers warrant, to mount Christie. Stay posted.
