Why is JUNIOR Rugby alive and kicking in Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue?
2010 will mark the third year that the Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Rugby Club offers a
junior rugby program. The Club has a winning tradition and a solid program that
develops athletes into talented rugby players. The Junior teams are called THE
SAINTS and this program is for girls and boys who want to learn rugby, develop
skills, improve their fitness and continue playing rugby into the summer months.
Now, there are teams available for all kids aged 8 to 18!!!
As one of the most popular spring sports in the Montreal area high schools, rugby
provides many benefits to young athletes. Not only do kids make friends while
learning about this challenging game, it teaches kids about team work, helps build
character and boosts confidence. Players develop basic rugby skills through safe
and positive instruction, but the key to success of the Saints program is FUN. We
all know how important it is to keep kids active and they improve their health and
fitness without realizing it. What a bonus!
The club welcomes anyone who is interested in rugby. Our qualified coaches are sure
to inspire young players who simply want to enjoy the sport, or develop as elite
provincial athletes. The Executive Committee and the senior members are committed
to providing a quality program that fits the needs of local children and teens in
our community. Bring your kids to rugby... they'll have the time of their life!
Indoor and outdoor training takes place at École St-Georges in Senneville (across
from the Veteran's Hospital). Things to look forward to: Beat the February Blues
Camp, Bring a Buddy Day, training begins in May, and booked throughout the summer
are league games, exhibition matches, tournaments and a visiting tour by the
Mississauga Blues in June.
